New year, new fitness goals! Kick off 2019 with Fitbit Local Ambassadors Samy Mattei and Jon Cerf in an all-levels bodyweight bootcamp followed by a fun yoga stretch. BYO yoga mat! This is a free event and everyone is welcome. If you plan to bring a friend make sure they register for a ticket in advance. Owning a Fitbit product is not necessary to participate. ASBC Open Gym at Progresh - Monday, January 21st, 2019 (MLK Day)

ASBC at Progresh Registration deadline: Sunday, January 20th, 2019 Progresh is an innovative training center dedicated to ski, snowboard, skateboard, BMX and tumbling progression, in a safe and comfortable environment. Their mission is to provide a unique action sports experience, for all skill levels, to Colorado’s Front Range and beyond. This event is open to people of all ages who have ASD, as well as their siblings, friends, and family. We started this event with kids and teens in mind, but it's developed into an event for all ages and it's a great workout!  This is similar to the open gym format, however all participants need to arrive promptly for safety orientation and to sign waivers. Parents or guardians are required to remain at the facility. Progresh coaches will guide us as we explore all Progresh has to offer. This includes trampolines, airbags, tumbling, slacklining, and more. If you want to try the ski/ snowboard or skateboarding lesson, please call Progresh to set up a private lesson for an added charge. If you haven't given this activity a try because you feel you or your child needs a more gradual introduction to the facility and the rules, then please contact Julie Darrow at info@autismboulder.org to set up a 1:1 private session. This is not intended to be a free private lesson to improve skills. It is meant to facilitate a gradual introduction for someone who has trouble trying new things in a group setting. No cost to attend!   Biophilia CEU by Mohawk | 4:00 – 5:00pm This course discusses Biophilia, “humankind’s innate biological connection with nature” and the theory that as humans we have an inherent need to affiliate with the world around us. The course examines the theory of biophilic design, along with its benefits and the types of effects it creates. It also addresses the 14 Patterns of Biophilic Design and how those patterns are incorporated into products and architectural design. Additionally, the course provides case studies highlighting how biophilic design has an economic and statistical impact on our society. Panel Discussion with special guests | 5:30 - 6:30pm      Moderated by: Rebecca Brennan, CHID, CID, EDAC, IIDA, LEED AP, RID      Principal and Founder of Design Studio Blue Rebecca has been following her creative passion through the practice of healthcare interior design for over 22 years. Her knowledge of and experience with healthcare environments ranges from medical clinics to international acute care medical campuses. Rebecca shares her experience and knowledge by speaking nationally about healthcare design and Integrated Lean Project Deliver. Rebecca has spoken on healthcare design topics at Healthcare Design Conference, LCI Congress, Neocon and NCIDQ. Along with education, skills, and experience, Rebecca is a firm believer in continued growth through certification. Rebecca became a board certified healthcare interior designer through AAHID and has served as President Elect, President, and Past-President of the national certification board. She is a specialist in the areas of evidence-based design, sustainable design, lean project delivery, and healthcare interior design.        Panelist: Lisa Gallun, ASID, CHID, EDAC, IIDA, LEED AP      Founding Principal As Gallun Snow's Design Principal Lisa Gallun is a founding principal of Gallun Snow Associates, Inc., established in 1988. Gallun Snow is a nationally recognized interior design firm, specializing in healthcare design. Their design solutions focus on client vision, evidence-based design, best practices and sustainability. Lisa has worked on over 200 healthcare projects, including remodels, additions and new construction.         Panelist: Chris Knight, LEED AP BD+C      Director at Project One Integrated Services Chris Knight has 19 years of diverse construction management and owner’s representation experience. After obtaining a degree in Construction Management from the University of Florida, Chris moved to Chicago where he worked with Pepper Construction on a multitude of project types ranging from Healthcare open heart surgery suites to full high-rise hotel renovations to distribution warehouse expansions. In 2005, Chris and his family relocated to Denver and worked for Mortenson Construction on multiple highly complex projects across the Front Range.   Chris also worked with Colorado State University’s Construction Management “CM Cares” program to develop future leaders and volunteered with Environmental Learning for Kids which provides safe outdoor learning programs to underprivileged youth. Over the last four years, Chris led the campus expansion for Vail Health’s campus helping to bring Vail Health’s facilities up to the latest standard of care for community healthcare. Chris has been involved in the USGBC’s LEED planning and certification of over 7 campus projects including 17 buildings ranging from vehicle maintenance facilities and dormitories to sports operations facilities and hospitals.        Panelist: Wendi J. Ekborg, AIA, LEED AP      Principal at Davis Partnership Architects Wendi Ekborg is a Principal at Davis Partnership Architects. With 25 years of experience, she has dedicated a majority of her career to healthcare design. Her project experience includes pediatric, medical office buildings, ambulatory, acute care, and behavioral health specialties. Wendi enjoys the journey with the client from facilitating the visioning process to implementation. She integrates lean design practices allowing all stakeholders an opportunity to participate and be heard. Ms. Ekborg stays abreast of current research, best practices and evidence based design to find the best approach for each client's needs. Wendi believes that every patient, family member, and professional is entitled to place in which dignity is held sacred.        Panelist: Jamie Staton      Senior Project Manager at Children's Hospital Jamie Staton is a Senior Project Manager with Children's Hospital, Colorado, where she is managing the 200K SF expansion to the North Campus facility via Integrated Project Delivery. Jamie has spent the past 12 years of her career on the owner side, exploring fresh and innovative approaches to the complexities and challenges inherent in health care design and construction. Prior to this adventure, Jamie kick-started her career space planning and specifying furniture for GSA and healthcare projects. In her "leisure" time Jamie enjoys life, which she describes as "happy chaos", with her husband and their four amazing children!        CEU Presenter: Di Anna Borders      Design Director, Healthcare, Senior Living, Education & Resilient – Mohawk Group As the face for Healthcare, Senior Living and Education, Di Anna is very passionate about the built environments effect on its inhabitants. Her role is to research current segment trends, meet with key A&D and End User influencers and to create a holistic portfolio across multiple product platforms that will serve the market intent. An award-wining product designer, Di Anna has over 15 years’ experience in the building products industry. She attends various shows and conferences to find the latest trends and influences for her segments. Di Anna lives in Dalton, GA, working in Mohawk Group’s Living Building Challenge Certified space, the Light Lab.

Join us for this Saturday night performance of Little Shop of Horrors performed by the Timbergriffen Theater Company - a joint venture of ECA and PCS. Don't miss this very special presentation of the cult favorite. A unique plant design, a latin flaire, and a whole bunch of talented students. Little Shop of Horrors is a horror comedy rock musical with music by Alan Menken and lyrics and a book by Howard Ashman. The story follows a hapless florist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on human blood and flesh. The musical is based on the low-budget 1960 black comedy film The Little Shop of Horrors.
